Call to Writers

Neelie Publishing is looking for contributions from writers for a new book project tentatively titled: Writing Junkies etcetera, literary trivia and other such novel ideas.

Literary Trivia: most literary trivia is public domain, some true, some myth, usually with source unknown, but you may know a piece of trivia that’s unusual or little known – pass it on. Most people love trivia, it makes interesting reading.
Why I Write…: one sentence – it may be serious, humorous, inspirational, motivational, true, or just plain funny. Share your reason for writing with us and your statement may be chosen for the book.
Favorite Quote, Author, or Book: if you have a favorite quote on writing or publishing you would like to share, send it to us, include the author’s name if known. How about your favorite author and why or favorite book and why – one sentence should be sufficient.

CHALKBOARD DUST

After a while, Scott, too, busied himself with
the assigned math problems and seemed to
forget about his injuries. Under the pretense
of intense concentration, he rested his head in
his cupped hands, fidgeted with the bandages,
and then brought his hands down to the spiral
notebook on his desk. A few moments later, he
rubbed his forehead and gingerly scratched his ear.
Observing these gestures over a period of time, I
noticed an incredible thing!
